About the dolphins

Few have ever heard of the rare and elusive Indian Ocean humpback dolphins. They live in shallow, coastal waters along the western rim of the Indian Ocean and adjoining seas and gulfs. They are Endangered, threatened by gillnets and coastal impacts, and need our help and attention."

HuDoNet is a network of people who are motivated to work together to conserve the Indian Ocean humpback dolphin throughout its global range. Our work concentrates on understanding humpback dolphins and the threats and opportunities around them in a solution-focussed way to empower researchers and conservationists to collaborate with stakeholders to design conservation plans that are grounded in science.
